Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: From Kigali to the Mist – Crossing Into Uganda

Your guide meets you early in Kigali—Rwanda’s clean, calm, and quietly beating capital.
After a quick briefing and warm introductions, you hit the road westward in terraced hills roll past like a sea of green waves, with banana groves and red-roofed homes dotting the landscape.

You’ll cross the Katuna or Cyanika border into Uganda—where the hills grow steeper, the air turns cooler, and the forest seems to lean in closer. By late afternoon, you arrive at your lodge, tucked beside the dense curtain of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Tonight, you’ll fall asleep to the sound of frogs, wind, and mystery. Because tomorrow? Tomorrow, you meet the giants.

What to Pack:

  • Passport with visa (East Africa Tourist Visa is ideal)
  • Camera for Rwanda’s rolling hills
  • Light jacket for the highland chill

Day 2: Face to Face – Gorilla Trekking & Drive to the Savannah

Before sunrise, you rise for your gorilla trekking adventure. At the park headquarters, your ranger guide leads you through a safety and etiquette briefing—then it’s off into the jungle.

Every step is a story: slippery trails, whispering bamboo, sunlight spilling through leaves.
Then, the hush. A silverback sits like a monument in the green. His eyes meet yours—and you understand what silence can say. Nearby, a baby gorilla swings from vines, and a mother hums softly while grooming her young.

For one unforgettable hour, you’re not a visitor. You’re a witness in the jungle of Bwindi observing the giant gorillas firsthand. After lunch and some time to reflect, your safari continues west as you drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The terrain opens up, trees grow sparse, and by evening, you settle into your lodge with savannah winds brushing your skin.

What to Pack:

  • Waterproof hiking boots & gloves
  • Rain gear (Bwindi plays by its own rules)
  • Snacks & at least 2L of water

Day 3: Savannah Dreams – Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Cruise

At first light, you roll out for a classic African game drive across the Kasenyi Plains. Keep your eyes peeled for lion prides stretched in the sun, elephants lumbering through grass, and  herds of Uganda kobs flickering like flame against the morning haze.

After lunch, the safari shifts to water in a fascinating boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel carries you into a world of hippos snorting in pods, crocodiles baking on the banks, and birds erupting in flashes of color.  This is where the land exhales as you sightsee the parks aquatics.

What to Pack:

  • Neutral safari clothes
  • Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
  • Camera with zoom lens

Day 4: To the Roar – Drive to Murchison Falls

After breakfast, you journey north toward Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most dramatic reserve. The scenery changes again: wide plains, acacia groves, quiet rural towns where life hums at a slower beat. Keep your camera ready—baboons love the  roadside, and crested cranes often dance in open fields. By afternoon, you arrive at your lodge near the Nile. The river is close. You’ll feel it in your bones before you hear it.

What to Pack:

  • Comfortable travel clothes
  • Power bank for your devices
  • Journal or playlist for the ride

Day 5: The Final Thunder – Game Drive, Top of the Falls & Return

This is your last safari sunrise—so make it count. You’ll head out on a morning game drive across Murchison’s open landscapes, where giraffes glide across the horizon and warthogs bolt like toddlers late for school. Leopards? If you’re lucky. Elephants? Almost certainly.

After breakfast, you’ll visit the Top of Murchison Falls—where the mighty Nile squeezes through a narrow 7-meter gorge and explodes into a foaming roar below. It’s thunderously powerful, wild and uncaged. From there, you begin your return to Kampala or Entebbe, reaching by early evening. You’ll arrive with dusty shoes, a full camera roll—and a new rhythm in your chest.

What to Pack:

  • Sturdy safari clothes
  • Waterproof bag for your gear
  • Travel pillow for the journey home
Gorilla Permit, Park Entrances, All activities as indicated, All meals, Accommodation, Airport Transfers, Fueled Vehicle, Experienced English speaking guide
